For nogi classes anything you’d wear for the gym is appropriate (example - shorts and t shirt) No zips on clothing though.

Gi classes the traditional kimono, pants and belt is the uniform.

You can purchase training gear from the gym or we recommend our paired apparel sponsor Progress Jiu Jitsu using code: Progressellis for 15% discount.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Definitely not! Our beginner classes/courses are suitable for any age/fitness level.

The coaches are experienced and know how to cater for everybody. We have all age ranges training within the gym with some of our oldest members in their 50’s.

Jiu Jitsu fitness is like no other type of fitness, the best way to get fit for it is by doing it.

AM I TOO OLD OR UNFIT TO START TRAINING?

Please see our memberships page to sign up to a plan that suits you.

We have different memberships depending on how frequently you want to train.

All memberships are managed by direct debit and will be paired with our gym management software.

HOW MUCH IS IT TO TRAIN?

Yes anybody can do private lessons whether it’s your first ever time training or you’ve trained years.

They are a great way to ask specific questions with your coach and work parts of your game maybe you haven’t learned in class yet.

Private lessons allow you to pick a time to train that suits you and get some extra mat time.

CAN ANYONE DO PRIVATE LESSONS?

Yes anybody can compete and we would encourage it.

All competitions are split into experience, weight and age divisions so nobody is out of their depth and it’s a great way to motivate and push yourself towards improvement.

If you have any doubt about competing for the first time, speak to a coach. Regular competitors tend to progress at a faster rate.

CAN I COMPETE?

You can purchase a membership online - we have varying membership plans to suit everyone.

If you'd like to get a feel for the gym or experience a class feel free to drop in or send us an email if you have any questions.

HOW DO I JOIN?

Each membership is based on a month to month basis. If for any reason you wish to cancel, you are in control of this via your online account or simply by cancelling your direct debit.

You can reinstate this yourself via our memberships page.

WILL I BE TIED INTO A CONTRACT WHEN SIGING UP?

It’s completely normal to feel nervous before starting something new. Everyone starts as a beginner and we have a specific beginners programme meaning you will be in the same boat as your training partners.

We prioritise creating a welcoming and supportive environment where all students, regardless of experience, feel comfortable.

Feel free to reach out to us with any questions before you start.

IM NERVOUS ABOUT JOINING - BUT REALLY WANT TO START TRAINING?

We do have a lost and found and if you have misplaced any items please reach out to any of the coaches.

Please remember to take your worn training kit with you for hygiene reasons.
