Meet Our Founder
North East Jiu Jitsu is the creation of Ellis Younger who is a black belt under Darragh O’Conaill.
The academy was established in 2015 within a small side room at a Washington engineering factory, since then the gym has moved twice and currently resides at its largest and best facility to date within Crowther Industrial estate not far from Newcastle and Durham.
The gym has progressed from a small group of friends training together to a large group of members and is home to British, European and World champions. North East Jiu Jitsu is affiliated to East Coast Jiu Jitsu in Dublin which is considered one of the top gyms in Europe.
